Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups 2% lowfat milk
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 - egg whites
- 1 - egg
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 10 slices french bread, cubed
- RUM SAUCE
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 cup 2% milk
- 3 tablespoons dark rum
How To Make bread pudding with rum sauce

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Step 2Combine all the ingredients EXCEPT the bread, whisk thoroughly. Add the bread and mix gently. Let stand about 1 hour so the bread soaks in the egg mixture.

Step 3Spray a 10X7 baking dish with cooking spray. Spoon the bread mixture in the dish. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes or until well set and golden in color.

Step 4Next, make the rum sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the margarine and add the sugar and milk, stir just until it is combined. Add the flour, cook stirring constantly with a wire whisk until it thickens. Remove from the heat and stir in the rum. Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

Step 5Serve the bread pudding warm from the oven, with a drizzle of rum sauce..adults only of course!
