I'm always asked to make these. So easy but so tasty. Use what ever chips and nuts you like. Serve warm with warm carmel sauce and ice cream. I call this love for the tummy!

Ingredients For blonde brownies

  • 1 c
    butter
  • 1 (16 oz) box
    light brown sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • pinch
    salt
  • 1 c
    pecans or walnuts, chopped
  • 1 (16 oz) pkg
    semi-sweet chocolate chips

How To Make blonde brownies

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter in a heavy saucepan. Add sugar. Stir in eggs, flour and baking powder. Add vanilla extract, salt and nuts. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 13 x 9-inch pan and bake for 25 minutes.

    (My note: Once the sugar has been mixed in with the melted butter, I prefer to pour it into a mixing bowl and then add the rest of the ingredients. It seems to result in a more brownie-like texture.)
