Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 - eggs
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
- 1/3 cup dark cocoa
- BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
- 3 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 3 tablespoons dark cocoa
- 1 tablespoon light karo
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1-2 tablespoon milk
How To Make black forest brownies

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2Grease square 9x9 pan.

Step 3In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar and vanilla.

Step 4Add eggs and blend well.

Step 5Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt, and gradually blend into egg mixture.

Step 6Stir in cherries.

Step 7Spread into prepared pan and bake 20-25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool.

Step 8To make buttercream frosting, in a small mixing bowl, cream butter, cocoa, Karo, and vanilla.

Step 9Add confectioners' sugar and milk; beat to spreading consistency. Frost the brownies.
