1/2 cbutter, melted

1/2 call purpose flour

1/4 tspbaking powder

1/4 tspsalt

1/2 cchopped maraschino cherries

1/3 cdark cocoa

BUTTERCREAM FROSTING
-
3 Tbspbutter (softened)
-
3 Tbspdark cocoa

1 Tbsplight karo
-
1/2 tspvanilla extract
-
1 cconfectioners' sugar
-
1-2 Tbspmilk
How to Make Black Forest Brownies
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease square 9x9 pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar and vanilla.
- Add eggs and blend well.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt, and gradually blend into egg mixture.
- Stir in cherries.
- Spread into prepared pan and bake 20-25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan. Cool.
- To make buttercream frosting, in a small mixing bowl, cream butter, cocoa, Karo, and vanilla.
- Add confectioners' sugar and milk; beat to spreading consistency. Frost the brownies.
