I love chocolate and cherries. These are brownies are great!

Ingredients

  • 4 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 cup baking cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup maraschino cherries
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • ICING:
  • 2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 6 tablespoons baking cocoa
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts

How To Make black forest brownies

  • Step 1
    In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla, and almond extract.
  • Step 2
    Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; stir into egg mixture until blended. Fold in cherries and nuts. Pour into greased 13x9x2" baking pan. Bake at 350* for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, for icing, in a small mixing bowl, beat the confectioners sugar, cocoa, milk, butter and vanilla until smooth. Frost brownies. Sprinkle with nuts.
