While working at Public Storage in Gaithersburg, a greek tennant's mother brought me in a slice for a special treat. When I told her I enjoyed it so much she brought me her recipe. Her name was Evangelique Nomicos.

Ingredients
- 1 pound phyllo dough
- 1 pound melted butter
- 1 pound chopped walnuts, for filling
- 4 tablespoons sugar, for filling
- 3/4 cup breadcrumbs, for filling
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, for filling
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 stick cinnamon
- - lemon peel
How To Make baklava

Step 1Place 6 phyllos in baking pan, brushing each with melted butter. Put on some filling, then 2 phyllos brushed with butter. Continue until 6 remain for the top and you have used all the filling. Cut only halfway through in diamond patterns. Prepare syrup and spoon over baklava. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool completely, cut completely.
