baked doughnuts
I've always wanted to make doughnuts but frying just was not my thing then I found this recipe and tried it out. My family just cannot keep out of the kitchen when I make them, they disappear as quickly as they come out of the oven. It's a wonderful treat to have with a coffee or hot chocolate.

How To Make baked doughnuts
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet, or doughnut baking pan.
-
Step 2In a medium bowl, mix sugar, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and flour. Mix buttermilk, eggs, honey and butter and apple sauce in a separate medium bowl, and stir into the dry ingredients. Spoon the mixture onto the prepared pan in doughnut shapes. I highly suggest you get a doughnut baking pan it is easier and less messy.

Step 3Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Pop them out of pan and let cool on either wax paper or parchment paper. Yields about 2 dozen doughnuts
