Ingredients
- DOUGH
- 1 cup butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- CRUMB TOPPING
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- FILLING
- 3/4 cup jam, any flavor
How To Make aunt theresa’s crumb bars

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. For the dough, cream softened butter with sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2Mix in egg yolks along with vanilla and salt.

Step 3Mix in flour until the dough comes together and you are able to form it into a ball.

Step 4Divide the dough into 4 and take 1/4 out for the topping.

Step 5To make the topping, mix the reserved 1/4 of the dough with 2 Tbsp sugar and 1/4 cup flour. Stir all together to make a crumb mixture. I use my fingers to mix and break up the dough until it turns into crumbs.

Step 6Take the remaining dough and press it into an 8x8 baking pan.

Step 7Spread jam over the crust.

Step 8Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the top.

Step 9Bake for 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees F until golden. brown.

Step 10Cool to room temperature. Cut into bars and serve.
