I use a butter recipe cake mix and make a 2 layer cake or cut layers in half and make four. Taste like homemade.

Step-by-Step

  1. in a double boiler boil sugar milk and margarine to soft ball stage
  2. remove from heat and add unwrapped caramels and stir until blended.
  3. If it is not thick enough to spread, beat till the right consistancy. Spread on cake( 2 layer, 9x13, cupckes, or what ever.
