My Aunt Donna a few years ago passed down her recipe for Scotchroos because I needed some ideas for a bake sale. Unfortunately, I never tried her recipe and went with something else. Sadly, she passed away due to cancer and I had thought the recipe was lost. I found it posted to my Facebook and would like to keep it on this page for safe keeping while sharing it as well with others. Sharing is caring.

I am sure this recipe is well known but it being the last recipe she gave me it means a lot.

How to Make Aunt Donna's Scotcheroos

  1. Take 1 cup sugar and 1 cup Karo and bring them to a boil. Stir just until sugar is dissolved. Don't overcook.
  2. Add 1 cup peanut butter and mix good. Pour over 6 cups of rice crispies. Mix well and press into a 15" cookie pan with a lip.
  3. Then melt 1 package of butterscotch chips and 1 package of chocolate chips. Spread over the top and let them cool.
  4. You can sprinkle with nuts or sprinkles. They cut nice and smooth and everyone likes them.
