apple pie sundae
Had this once at Marie Callendars. It was so good I went home and made my own recipe for it. Love the smell of the apples baking in the oven.

Ingredients
- APPLE PIE INGREDIENTS
- 4 large fuji apples sliced thin
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 6 tablespoons butter
- - hagen daz vanilla ice cream
- BUTTER RUM SAUCE INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or half and half
- 1 teaspoon rum extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make apple pie sundae

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 2Spray A 9 X 13 inch pan with cooking spray just to coat pan

Step 3Arrange apple slices in pan

Step 4Mix together 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar and the cinnamon

Step 5Sprinkle over the apple slices

Step 6Mix 1/3 cup white sugar with the flour

Step 7Cut in the butter until crumbly

Step 8Spoon mixture over apples

Step 9Bake at 400 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes, or until done

Step 10Let cool 20 minutes

Step 11To make the butter rum sauce: In a medium sauce pan combine the sugar, butter, and cream.

Step 12Using medium to low heat, heat the sugar, butter and cream until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves

Step 13Add the rum extract and vanilla and stir until mixed in.

Step 14To assemble: place a serving of apple mixture in a bowl or goblet, top the apple mixture with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the ice cream.
