This is a recipe that I've looked for for many years. My bese friends Mom made it when I was small. I looked for something like it but never found it. Today my friend found it in a box on a shelf. It is so good it rivals apple pie. This is posted in the same way it was written 1934, I find it interesting.
I would guess the amount of milk would be about one cup.

How to Make Apple Johnny

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place sliced apples in a 9 inch round cake pan.
  • 2Combine flour and baking powder and cut in butter. Add enough milk to make a dough that can be spread over apples. Could add a tablespoon of sugar to dough if a sweeter dough is desired.
