Ingredients

  • 5 cups watermelon, seeded, cubed
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 package unflavored gelatin
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 12 ounces evaporated skim milk

How To Make watermelon sherbet

  • Step 1
    Combine first 3 ingredients; cover and chill 30 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Place watermelon mixture in container of an electric blender or food processor.
  • Step 3
    Top with cover, and process until smooth; set aside.
  • Step 4
    Sprinkle gelatin over water in a small saucepan; let stand 1 minute.
  • Step 5
    Cook over medium heat, stirring until gelatin dissolves; remove from heat.
  • Step 6
    Combine watermelon mixture, gelatin and milk.
  • Step 7
    Pour into freezer container of a 5-quart hand-turned or electric freezer.
  • Step 8
    Freeze mixture according to manufactuer\'s instructions.
