Tara needed to use very ripe apples, so out came the very large heavy bottom pan, and started adding ingredients while I measured...Her Papa was the taster and each taste had rave reviews! He said Stop! It is perfect, so we did.

Ingredients
- 4 medium tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 1/2 cup butter, do not substitute
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 4 - turns around pan of corsely ground salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Just a pin - frshly grated nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
How To Make tara's fried apples

Step 1Set aside apples. In a large heavy bottom pan, over medium heat melt butter; add sugar and spices, turn salt grinder 4 times around pan.

Step 2Sprinkle flour over butter, wisk in water; add lemon juice.

Step 3Add apples, stirring to coat; continue cooking until apples are soft, stirring now and then.

Step 4Serve over vanilla ice cream; on pancakes or waffles; with pork and ham; or anything your heart desires!
