This makes a delicious granita, can also be made with lemon juice for a lemon granita.

How to Make Sicilian Strawberry Granita


  1. Put 1/2 of strawberries and water into a blender and blend until pureed.
  2. Add the rest of the strawberries and water, sugar, and lemon juice and blend until creamy and smooth.
  3. Transfer mixture to chilled ice cream bucket. Churn the ingredients for approx. 30 minutes or until mixture is creamy and icy.
  4. Best to eat right away but can be kept in the freezer for two days.
