Peaches are probably one of my favorite fruits. There are so many ways to serve them but probably the most fun is going to the orchard to pick the plump beauties from the trees eat a few and talk about the jams, cobbler, pies and sweets we are going to make with them.

Ingredients For peachy for peach cobbler

  • 1 1/2 c
    self rising flour
  • 1 stick
    or 8 tbl. butter not margarine
  • 1/2 c
    water
  • 2 c
    sugar, divided
  • 4 c
    peeled, sliced peaches
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • ground cinnamon, optional

How To Make peachy for peach cobbler

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Combine the peaches, 1 cup sugar, and water in a saucepan and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from the heat.

    Put the butter in a 3-quart baking dish and place in oven to melt.

    Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, and milk slowly to prevent clumping. Pour mixture over melted butter. Do not stir. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes.
