Everyone I know ( including myself ) loves coffee ice cream. If you shop for groceries, you know how expensive a pint of coffee ice cream can be. I made this recipe up myself after getting tired of paying such a high price for such a small container of coffee ice cream. It is easy, quick, and cheap !! Enjoy !!
1Set tub of vanilla ice cream out on counter for 10 minutes before starting recipe. Scoop out large spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream and put in extra large bowl. Do so until all ice cream is in bowl. Pour hot or cold black coffee over ice cream. Using a hand mixer, blend until smooth and creamy. Place back in ice cream tub. Place tub of coffee ice cream in freezer until frozen solid.
2I have used espresso in this recipe, it makes a much richer taste. After making this for the first time, you can adjust the amount of coffee to suit your own taste. You can add crushed nuts, candies or cookies to make different versions of this recipe. I have added amaretto to this before too !! Amazing !!
