joy's peach ice cream

My husband recently purchased an automatic frozen Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker. Since South Carolina peaches (the best) are plentiful and so good right now, I decided to try making peach ice cream. I really wasn’t sure about the amounts of ingredients to use since it was my first time to make it in the new machine. However, I jotted down what I put in as I went along and this is it. It came out delicious and is SO easy! I’ll never go back to buying Ice Cream Salt and Ice again! Hope you enjoy! Note: I used Kern's Peach Nectar.

How To Make joy's peach ice cream

  • 1
In an electric ice cream maker (countertop style), this recipe makes enough for 2 canisters. Place both canisters in the freezer until frozen and ready to make ice cream. Have milk, cream, and nectar chilled in the refrigerator before preparing.
  • 2
Puree peaches in a food processor; add sugar and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the refrigerator while mixing other ingredients.
  • 3
In a large pouring mixing bowl, blend together the remaining ingredients and mix well. If you are not going to make the ice cream right away, omit the extract, cover and place the bowl in the refrigerator. Add the extract when ready to turn on the ice cream maker.
  • 4
Pour ½ mixture into the first canister, leaving the other canister in the freezer until ready to use. Turn on the ice cream maker and mix for 15-20 minutes or until of soft consistency. Add ½ of the peach mixture and continue mixing until blended well. Repeat steps for the second canister.
