- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
How To Make hot caramel sauce for ice cream or other desserts

Step 1In a medium saucepan over medium heat; add sugar. Stir with spatula when you see sugar starting to melt. When starting to look caramel color, stir frequently; pressing on lumps when they form.

Step 2When a dark amber color, add cream & stir quickly. (IT WILL STEAM HEAVILY AT THIS TIME - YOU ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING WRONG - JUST KEEP STIRRING) If too thick add more cream; stir to desired thickness & then turn off heat.

Step 3While still hot...pour over your favoriet dessert or ice cream.
