Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup milk(whole or 2%) i use 2%
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make homemade butter pecan icecream

Step 1Melt butter in a small frying pan, add salt and pecans and sautee over medium high heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often. Drain off most of the butter, leaving a little in the pan with pecans. Let cool for about 15-20 minutes

Step 2In a large mixing bowl whisk together milk and sugar, whisk in cream and vanilla, stir in pecans

Step 3Turn on your icecream freezer(I use a Cuisinart), pour icecream mixture in and let it churn for 25 minutes. It will be soft serve at this point. You can serve it immediately or put it in a freezer safe container and freeze.
