Ingredients

  • 1 stick
    butter
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1 c
    milk(whole or 2%) i use 2%
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 2 c
    heavy cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract

How to Make Homemade Butter Pecan Icecream

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt butter in a small frying pan, add salt and pecans and sautee over medium high heat for about 5 minutes, stirring often. Drain off most of the butter, leaving a little in the pan with pecans. Let cool for about 15-20 minutes
  2. In a large mixing bowl whisk together milk and sugar, whisk in cream and vanilla, stir in pecans
  3. Turn on your icecream freezer(I use a Cuisinart), pour icecream mixture in and let it churn for 25 minutes. It will be soft serve at this point. You can serve it immediately or put it in a freezer safe container and freeze.
