This is a really tasty recipe that I got from the Taste of Home magazine. I broiled the pineapple and it was good but seem to take quite awhile. I look forward to trying this again but on the grill.

Ingredients

    fresh pineapples
  • 6 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 2 Tbsp
    sugar
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground nutmeg
  • 1 c
    packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • ·
    dash salt
  • 3 c
    vanilla ice cream

How to Make Grilled Pineapple Butterscotch Sundaes

Step-by-Step

  1. Peel, core and cut each pineapple into 6 spears.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt 6 Tbsp butter with sugar and nutmeg. Brush over pineapple.
  3. Grill, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 inches from the heat for 7-10 minutes or until lightly browned, turning occasionally.
  4. For sauce, in a small saucepan, melt remaining butter. Stir in brown sugar and cream. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from the heat; stir in vanilla and salt. Serve sauce with ice cream and grilled pineapple
