Ingredients
- 1 quart vanilla ice cream
- 5 cups cornflakes
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- cinnamon
- sugar
- - whipped cream, optional
- - chocolate sauce, optional
- - caramel sauce, optional
- maraschino cherries, optional
How To Make fried ice cream

Step 1Scoop the vanilla ice cream out onto a rimmed baking sheet covered with parchment paper, leaving space between the scoops. Place the baking sheet on a level spot in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Step 2Crush the cornflakes by placing them in a large zipper bag and smashing them with a rolling pin.

Step 3Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in the cornflakes and cinnamon. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, stirring frequently. Remove from the heat and stir in the sugar. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

Step 4Roll the frozen ice cream balls in the cornflake mixture and place them back in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Step 5Roll them again in the cornflake mixture and place them back in the freezer for 20-30 minutes.

Step 6When ready to serve, remove them from the freezer and let them sit for 1-2 minutes. If desired, top with whipped cream, chocolate, caramel sauce, and a maraschino cherry.
