Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 3 1/2 - squares baking chocolate, broken
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 4 cups half and half

How To Make chocolate custard ice cream

  • Step 1
    Combine sugar, flour, and salt in a saucepan. Stir in milk. Blend in eggs and add chocolate pieces.
  • Step 2
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Step 3
    Boil 1 min. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • Step 4
    Add vanilla and half and half to custard and mix well.
  • Step 5
    Fill chilled ice cream container 2/3 full. Freeze according to manufacturer's instructions.
  • Step 6
    Pack in freezer containers and store in freezer until ready to serve.
