all that razz ice cream
My husband loves ice cream, and years ago our grandson dubbed what I usually make as “Grandmama’s Just Plain Vanilla”. The booklet that came with my ice cream maker has several delicious variations, and this recipe is a variation on one of those. Sometimes you just have to razz things up a little!

5 cup(s)
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries, puréed
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
How To Make all that razz ice cream
-
Step 1Use a food processor or blender to purée the raspberries.
-
Step 2In a medium bowl, use a mixer on low speed to combine milk, sugar, and salt until sugar is dissolved. Stir in heavy cream, vanilla, and almond extracts.
-
Step 3Stir in the raspberries and white chocolate chips. Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker freezer bowl. (I use a Cuisinart countertop electric ice cream maker. Follow the directions for your ice cream maker for setup.)
-
Step 4Let it mix until thickened, usually 15-20 minutes. This recipe makes a very full batch, so watch as it freezes. Sometimes it overflows and I have to [gasp] clean up the spills! There are usually volunteers.
-
Step 5For my ice cream maker, the mixture at this point is soft serve consistency. I transfer it to a freezer-safe container and allow it to harden for a couple of hours in the freezer before serving... If we can wait.
