  • 1/2 c
  • 3/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 20 oz
    can, pineapple slices
  • 12
    maraschino cherries
  • 1 c
  • 3/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • pinch
  • 1 large
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/3 c
    sour cream
  • 3 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 2 tsp

How to Make Yummy Pineapple Upside Down Cake


  1. Melt butter and pour into 9" springform pan. Make sure butter coats the entire pan bottom and around the edge.
  2. Sprinkle the brown sugar all the around the bottom.
  3. Start the design by putting a ring of pineapple right in the center with a cherry in the middle.
  4. Break the rest of the rings in two and make a pattern around the ring in the middle.
  5. Put cherries in the middle of each pineapple slice.
  6. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl.
  7. Whisk the wet ingredients in a bowl
  8. Add the wet and dry ingredients together with a spatula. Do not overmix.
  9. Pour the cake mix gently into the spring form pan, not disturbing the other ingredients already in the pan.
  10. Place pan in 350 degree F oven on a cookie sheet to catch any drips.
  11. Bake about 40 minutes or until center is set. Use a toothpick to check but do not stick toothpick all the way to the bottom.
  12. Cool on wire rack for at least 45 minutes before turning upside down and serving.
