If you like apples and love caramel this is the one for you. This is my mothers recipe. Though I went in and perfected it over the years. My brother-in-law loves this and he does not eat a lot of deserts. But every time we visit for dinner he asks where his desert is. I usually have to make a huge one, I have gotten to where I buy a big throw away roasting foil pan just for this reason.
Preheat oven to 350* 9 inch baking pan. Lightly grease bottom of baking pan.
In bowl mix sliced apples, 1/2 cup flour set the rest of the flour to the side. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar to apples along with 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp allspice set the remaining aside for topping, stir in lemon juice, saves the apples from turning brown. Mix apples mixture and pour into baking pan and set a side.
Topping: work together in bowl Oats, remainder of flour, remainder of spices, remainder of brown sugar, add coconut and pecans, salt, mix melted butter in to mixture it should have a crumbly consistancy, sprinkle out over on to the apple mixture then press down on top of mixture.
Baked uncovered at 350* 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm by itself , with Ice cream, or I prefer Heavy cream heated up.
