when we all was little my mom would fix this great desert for us and it smelled so good while it was cooking we tore it up when it was cooled enough to eat yummy yum

Ingredients

  • 5 cups apples (peeled,cored and sliced)
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 - vanilla bean (split lengthwise and scrapped)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 2/3 cup rolled oats
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted

How To Make vanilla apple crisp with caramel

  • Step 1
    toss the apples with the sugar, vanilla, lemon juice and nutmeg.
  • Step 2
    mix the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon and butter in a large bowl.
  • Step 3
    place the apple mixture into 8x8 inch baking dish and pour the topping on.
  • Step 4
    bake in a preheated 350 oven until it is bubbling and the top is golden brown, about 35-45 minutes.
