How to Make Texas Red Grapefruit Brulée
- Put rack in upper third of oven; preheat broiler to high.
- Cut each grapefruit in half and loosen each segment.
- Drizzle 2 teaspoons of rum over each half.
- In small bowl, combine butter, sugar, flour, allspice and salt. Pinch ingredients together into soft crumbs. Sprinkle crumbs over grapefruit halves.
- Place grapefruit halves on a broiler pan and broil until crumbs are lightly browned - about 5-7 minutes. Let cool slightly and serve.
