- 2 large red grapefruit
- 8 teaspoons rum
- 2 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cut in small pieces
- 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 pinch salt
How To Make texas red grapefruit brulée

Step 1Put rack in upper third of oven; preheat broiler to high.

Step 2Cut each grapefruit in half and loosen each segment.

Step 3Drizzle 2 teaspoons of rum over each half.

Step 4In small bowl, combine butter, sugar, flour, allspice and salt. Pinch ingredients together into soft crumbs. Sprinkle crumbs over grapefruit halves.

Step 5Place grapefruit halves on a broiler pan and broil until crumbs are lightly browned - about 5-7 minutes. Let cool slightly and serve.
