taffy pecan apples
These apples make a great snack or dessert if you also add a dollop of vanilla bean ice cream. You could make these on a campfire relatively easily also...I would, however, advise very strongly that you double or triple the heavy duty tinfoil if you do cook them whole, or that you use a disposable pan from the dollar store if cooking on a grate over the fire. Either way you make them, they are sure to impress!

Ingredients
- 4 large granny smith or rome apples
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup half and half
How To Make taffy pecan apples

Step 1Core apples, cutting into but not through bottom ends, arrange in lightly greased 9" square pan. Stir pecans with remaining, spoon into apples. Bake at 375 degrees 45 min, covered, 15 min uncovered. Serve warm.

Step 2OR, slice into 7x11 pan, pour mixture on top and bake covered 30-35 min.
