streusel topped fresh peach crisp

I love to make this crisp when fresh peaches are in season. It is especially delicious served warm, topped with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients

  • FILLING
  • 5-6 cups fresh peaches, peeled & thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • STREUSEL TOPPING
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

How To Make streusel topped fresh peach crisp

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350ºF. Lightly grease a 7"x11" baking dish. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Filling: In a large bowl, combine the peaches with the flour, granulated sugar, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Gently toss until combined. Spoon into the prepared baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Topping: In a small bowl, stir together the brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, salt, and pecans. Add the softened butter and stir with a fork until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over the top of the peaches in the baking dish.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 45 minutes, or until topping is golden brown and peach mixture is bubbly. Remove from the oven and cool slightly on a wire cooling rack.
  • Step 5
    Serve warm topped with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
