Ingredients

  • 1 - large tub of frozen sliced strawberries
  • 2 cups sugar, divided
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk

How To Make strawberry cobbler

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Step 2
Mix together strawberries, water, and 1 c. of sugar in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Step 3
Place stick of butter or margarine in a 9X13 glass baking dish and put in oven to melt while strawberries are simmering.
  • Step 4
When strawberries start to boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 5
When butter or margarine is melted, remove from oven.
  • Step 6
Mix together flour and remaining 1 c. of sugar. Slowly add milk to prevent clumping and stir with whisk until smooth.
  • Step 7
Evenly pour batter mixture into hot melted butter. DO NOT STIR.
  • Step 8
Spoon strawberries on top of batter mixture, then gently pour remaining syrup evenly over the top.
  • Step 9
Bake for 35 minutes. (Batter will rise to the top while baking.)
