I got this recipe from a cookbook I got in Boone, NC. It is the best I've ever eaten. Just ask my neighbor. I've already made two in two weeks.

How to Make Strawberry Cobbler

Step-by-Step

  1. Melt margarine in 8x8 baking dish. In a small bowl, mix strawberries and 3/4 cup sugar, set aside. In large bowl, mix the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder and milk. Beat with electric mixer until smooth, place large spoonfuls of the mixture on top of the melted margarine, spreading as evenly as you can. Top with the berry mixture. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown. During baking the crust will rise and cover the berries. Serve warm with ice cream. I devour it by itself!
  2. NOTE: It can be made with any type fruit.
