I would call this recipe more of a Rhubarb Crunch but in Gramma Bea's box the name is what it is. But in our family we will eat rhubarb any way.

Ingredients For rhubarb bar dessert

1 1/2 coatmeal

1 1/2 cflour
-
1 cbrown sugar

1/2 tspsoda

1/4 tspsalt

3/4 cbutter or margarine

2 Tbspcorn startch

1 1/2 csugar
-
1/4 cwater
-
4 crhubarb (cut)

1/2 cchopped nuts (for the top)
How To Make rhubarb bar dessert

1Combine oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, soda and salt. Cut in butter until crumbly. Lightly press 2/3 of this mixture into a 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 12 min.

2In a saucepan combine cornstarch and sugar. Add water and rhubarb. Cook for about 5 min. stirring constantly. Pour over crust and sprinkle with the remaining topping and nuts. Continue baking for 25 to 30 more min. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
