A family recipe that I got from my mother-in-law many years ago. All my friends have asked for this recipe over the years.

Ingredients
- 1 cup soft oleo
- 1 & 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
- 3 & 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cups raisins
How To Make raisin bars

Step 1Cover 2 cups raisins with water and cook 20 to 30 minutes, drain well, reserve 1 cup of the juice.

Step 2Cream oleo, sugar, 2 eggs.

Step 3Mix flour, cinnamon and vanilla. Add this to creamed mixture alternately with raisins and juice (to which you add 1 teaspoon soda and mixed). Do this just as you are going to add to the mixture.

Step 4Spread on large cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until tooth pick in center is clean.

Step 5Cool for a few minutes (I usually cool for about 30 minutes) and spread a simple powdered sugar frosting.
