Ingredients

  • 2 - medium granny smith apples
  • 1 package refrigerated crescent rolls (8 count)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup orange or apple juice (i use apple juice)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans

How To Make quick apple dumplings

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8-inch square baking dish. Peel and core the apples. Cut each apple into fourths.
  • Step 2
    Unroll and separate the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Wrap each apple section in a triangle of crescent dough. Place in the pan and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  • Step 3
    Combine butter, sugar, and orange OR apple juice in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Pour this all over the dumplings. Sprinkle pecans over the top.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 30 minutes. To serve, spoon some of the syrup from the baking dish over the dumplings. Serve with ice cream if desired.
