A popular dessert anytime of the year. We enjoyed this dessert, following our traditional pork & homemade kraut, dumplings and many other fixings for New Years! Happy New Year!!!

Ingredients

  • CRUST
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels ( salted )
  • 1 1/2 sticks unsalted butter or 3/4 cup
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • FILLING
  • 1 - 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1-8 ounce thawed, cool whip
  • STRAWBERRY/PINEAPPLE TOPPING
  • 1 - 6 ounces strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 20 ounces sliced, frozen strawberries
  • 1-8 ounce crushed pineapple, juice too

How To Make ~ pineapple/strawberry pretzel dessert ~

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 400 degree F. Melt butter, add to crushed pretzels and sugar. Mix well. Press into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake for 8 minutes. Remove from oven to cool.
  • Step 2
    In a medium bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Fold in cool whip. Spread over cooled crust, with an offset knife. Refrigerate.
  • Step 3
    In a medium bowl, mix together the water and jello. Stir in the strawberries and pineapple. Refrigerate until starting to set. Stir and spread over cream cheese filling.
  • Step 4
    Chill for 4 hours or until completely set. I always serve with a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!
