bonnie's pear and grape crisp

Wish you had a yummy homemade dessert, but you only have a can of pears and a handful of grapes? You can make this delicious crisp with whatever you have on hand. Easy to fix, too! Top it with a dollop of cool whip or whipped cream or a scoop of your favorite ice cream. Sure to please the family. I am happy to share my recipe with you!Enjoy! Ingredients

  • 1ST LAYER
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups green seedless grapes, halved
  • 1 can sliced pears, drained (15 oz)
  • 2ND LAYER
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup cold butter
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

How To Make bonnie's pear and grape crisp

  • Step 1
    EQUIPMENT: You will need a glass 8X8 greased baking dish, and a medium mixing bowl and small mixing bowl.
  • Step 2
    OVEN TEMPERATURE AND TIME: Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees and bake 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
    MAKING THE 1ST LAYER: in the small mixing bowl, combine the sliced pears and the seedless, halved grapes. Add 2 tablespoons of flour and the almond extract and mix gently. Add this mixture evenly to the greased glass baking dish.
  • Step 4
    MAKING THE 2ND LAYER: In the medium mixing bowl, add brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour. Cut in the butter in until the mixture is of a coarse texture. Add the chopped walnuts, mix, and sprinkle this mixture over the fruit layer, spread it evenly. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees until lightly browned.
