peach kuchen
This is a recipe my grandma that my mother made, especially in the summer when fresh peaches were available. When my parents lived on a farm, this recipe was made often to go with coffee. It was served to my dad and brother whenever they took a break from working in the field.

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, cold
- 2 cups fresh peaches ( sliced)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1 cup sour cream
How To Make peach kuchen
-
Step 1Combine flour, 1/4 c. sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until the appearance of crumbs. Pat in a greased 9 x 13" pan. I usually don't pat crust up edges, but you can decide how you want to have your crust. Arrange peaches in rows over crust. Stir 1/2 c. sugar and the cinnamon together and sprinkle over fruit.
-
Step 2Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes. While this is baking, beat egg yolks and blend in cream. Spoon over partially baked kuchen and continue baking for 20 minutes longer or until egg mixture is set.
