Our small group shares a themed potluck dinner every week. When the theme was Southern comfort food I opted to make dessert. I chose peach cobbler and looked for a recipe. After reading several comments that it was too sweet I simply cut down the sugar and I think it’s perfect. Try it and decide for yourselves

Ingredients For peach cobler

  • 1/2 c
    unsalted butter
  • 4 c
    fresh peaches (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1 Tbsp
    baking powder
  • cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice

How To Make peach cobler

  • 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees In a 9x13 inch pan melt butter in oven while it preheats
  • 2
    Cut and slice peaches to make four cups and place in saucepan.

    In a small mixing bowl combine 1/2 cup sugar, flour, and baking powder
  • 4
    Stir milk into dry ingredients just until combined
  • 5
    In saucepan with peaches, add 1/2 cup sugar and lemon juice
  • 6
    Bring peach mixture to a boil
  • 7
    Pour flour mixture over butter. Do not stir
  • 8
    Pour peaches over flour mixture. Do not stir
  • 9
    Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired
  • 10
    Bake for 40-45 minutes. Serve warm or cool with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream
