peach cobbler

Think this recipe came from my grandma, my mom and I have been making it for years. My mom has a peach tree in her yard and we have lots of fun picking peaches, freezing them and of course, making lots of peach cobblers! Family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 5 cups sliced, peeled, peaches ( about 3 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • BATTER
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 - egg, slightly beaten

How To Make peach cobbler

  • Step 1
    Make filling: In medium bowl, combine peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbsp. of flour, lemon juice, vanilla and almond extracts, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 cup of water. Turn into 13 by 9 baking dish. Dot with 2 tbsp. of butter.
  • Step 2
    In medium bowl, combine all batter ingredients; beat with wooden spoon until smooth. Drop in 6 portions over filling, spacing evenly, batter will spread during baking.
  • Step 3
    Bake at 350 degrees, for 35 to 40 minutes of until peaches are tender and crust is golden. Can be served warm with vanilla ice cream.
