Think this recipe came from my grandma, my mom and I have been making it for years. My mom has a peach tree in her yard and we have lots of fun picking peaches, freezing them and of course, making lots of peach cobblers! Family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 5 c
    sliced, peeled, peaches ( about 3 lbs)
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp
    almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter
  • BATTER

  • 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten

How to Make Peach Cobbler

Step-by-Step

  1. Make filling: In medium bowl, combine peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 tbsp. of flour, lemon juice, vanilla and almond extracts, cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. salt, and 1/4 cup of water. Turn into 13 by 9 baking dish. Dot with 2 tbsp. of butter.
  2. In medium bowl, combine all batter ingredients; beat with wooden spoon until smooth. Drop in 6 portions over filling, spacing evenly, batter will spread during baking.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees, for 35 to 40 minutes of until peaches are tender and crust is golden. Can be served warm with vanilla ice cream.
