My sister, Marlene, gave me this recipe years ago. Everyone loves it. I usually use canned peaches but I like to use fresh when they are in season. I usually double the dough mixture so it is a little more bready.

Ingredients For peach cobbler

  • 4 Tbsp
    butter (1/2 stick)
  • 1 c
    flour
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c
    milk
  • 4 c
    peaches (1 qt. canned or about 5 peaches)
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar (if using fresh peaches)

How To Make peach cobbler

    Preheat oven 350 degrees
  • 2
    Put butter in baking dish (8X11) and place in oven to melt
  • 3
    If using fresh peaches, peel peaches and cut into wedges. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons sugar over peaches and mix. Set aside.

    In bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder & cinnamon.

    Add Milk and vanilla & mix

    Remove pan from oven. Spread dough over melted butter in baking dish.

    Place Sugared Peaches over dough. (if using canned peaches, discard the juice and place peaches over dough)

    Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 min.

    Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
