How to Make Old Fashioned Homemade Apple Crisp
- In a large bowl or standup mixer cream your butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- In a medium bowl combine your flour, oats, soda and salt mix and gradually add this to the cream mixture.
- Spray a botton of a 9" baking dish, pat 1/2 of the dry mixture on the bottom. Add your apple pie filling and crumble the remaining half of the dry mixture on top. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or cool whip.
- Note: Since I only made this with my homemade canned apple pie filling I do not know if you can use the regular can version. I am sure you would be able to. I would probably add the cinnamon to the store bought but wouldn't add the sugar. Use your own judgment.
