This is not a "pretty" dessert, but it is delicious! This is our traditional Mother's Day dessert as this is when fresh strawberries are in season. It gets better each day if there is any left over!

  • 1 qt
    strawberries
  • 2 stick
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs, well beaten
  • 2 c
    chopped nuts
  • ·
    vanilla wafer crumbs

How to Make Nannie's Strawberry Dessert

Step-by-Step

  1. Chop strawberries in a food processor or blender. The finer they are chopped, the quicker the dessert will set up. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs. Add nuts and strawberries. Make a layer of crumbs in the bottom of a 9X13 baking dish. Pour strawberry mixture on top and finish with another layer of crumbs. Refrigerate for several hours before serving.
