My mother's peach crisp is SO good--it's right up there with her fabulous apple crisp, or blueberry crisp, or cherry crisp, or any other crisp that she could come up with. The oats are the magic ingredient.

Ingredients

  • 6
    fresh peaches, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1/2 c
    quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground nutmeg

How to Make MY MOTHER'S PEACH CRISP

Step-by-Step

  1. Spread the peaches in a lightly greased 9" square pan or loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, brown sugar, oatmeal, butter, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir thoroughly.
  3. Sprinkle the topping mixture evenly over the peaches.
  4. Bake in a preheated 375º oven for 30 minutes or until topping has started to turn brown.
  5. Serve warm with a large dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream--and enjoy!
