Rose Sprunger

When we were in elementary school, we lived in a house that had 3 apple trees. In the fall it was our job to pick up the apples for my mother. We came home from school to the wonderful aroma of her apple dumplings baking for supper. These are a little different than many recipes, but we loved them, and I have used this recipe for years. I put it here to share and keep safe (in case it wanders off.) :)

I am posting the sauce recipe just after the directions.
