Ingredients For mom's date balls

  • 2 - 8oz pkg
    pitted dates
  • 1 stick
    butter, cold
  • 1 c
    brown sugar
  • 4 Tbsp
    water
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 2 c
    puffed rice cereal

How To Make mom's date balls

    Mix together in skillet - Dates, butter, brown sugar and water. Cook over medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes or until thickened to a paste.

    Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla

    Mix in 2 cups of the rice crispies. Allow to cool to touch then roll into small balls. Roll in coconut or powdered sugar. Serving size depends on how big the balls are.
