No doubt about it this is the best Apple Crisp ever. I was raised on this Crisp, Mom loved Cheese with hot Apple Pie as many do but this was even better. I often add EXTRA cheese myself. Hope you all enjoy it.

Ingredients

  • 1 qt
    +1 cup sliced apples
  • 2 2/3 Tbsp
    water
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 1/2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • TOPPING

  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon, ground
  • 2/3 c
    flour
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 1 c
    grate cheesed
  • 1 tsp
    salt

How to Make Mom's Cheese Apple Crisp

Step-by-Step

  1. Arrange apples in shallow pan (9x13 glass)
    (May use apple sauce in place of sliced apples by omitting water)
  2. Add water and lemon juice
  3. Topping: Mix sugar,cinnamon, flour and salt. Work in butter until it forms a crumbly texture, then add grated cheese and mix lightly until well combined.
  4. Sprinkle mixture over apples and bake in moderate oven until apples are tender and topping is browned.
