- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 6 cups sliced, peeled cooking apples, about 6 medium
- 1/2 cup snipped pitted whole dates
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 3/4 cup whole grain cereal flakes with multigrain clusters and crunchy pecans
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted
- - vanilla low-fat yogurt (optional)
How To Make maple, apple & date fruit crisp
-
Step 1In a large bowl stir together flour and apple pie spice. Add apples and dates; toss gently to coat. Drizzle with maple syrup; toss gently to coat. Transfer to an ungreased 2-qt. square baking dish.
-
Step 2In a small bowl toss together cereal and melted butter. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake, uncovered, in a preheated 375-degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until apples are tender. To prevent overbrowning, cover top loosely with foil for the last 10 to 15 minutes of baking, if necessary. Serve warm. Serve with yogurt if desired.
