Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest, grated
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 8 teaspoons lemon zest, grated
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

How To Make lemony lemon bars

  • Step 1
    preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 baking dish with butter and set aside.
  • Step 2
    zest and juice two lemons and set aside.
  • Step 3
    In the bowl of an electric mixture fitter with the paddle attachment, beat the flour, sugar, salt and softened butter until combined.
  • Step 4
    In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon zest and lemon juice until combined
  • Step 5
    Pour it into the flour mixture and beat for 2 mins at medium speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Step 6
    Pour into a baking dish and bake for 23-25 mins, should turn golden around the edges.
  • Step 7
    Allow to cool completely before glazing. Do not over bake, or the bars will dry.
  • Step 8
    Filter the powdered sugar and whisk with the lemon zest and juice.
  • Step 9
    Spread the glaze over the brownies with a rubber spatula and let the glaze set.
  • Step 10
    cut into bars and serve.
