My mother-in-law, Stella Curry, taught me so much about cooking. My own mother, Virgie Osborne, was a great cook too. I have always had some big shoes to fill. Mrs.Curry had 16 children so she needed some quick recipes. Here goes!

butter or margarine

self rising flour
1 c
granulated sugar
1 c
evaporated milk
1 can(s)
fruit pie filling or large can peaches, drained

How to Make Lazy Man's Cobbler


  • 1Preheat oven to 350. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick spray. Place one stick of margarine or butter in pan and place in oven until melted.
  • 2In large bowl whisk together flour, sugar and milk into a smooth, thin batter. Remove pan from oven and pour batter into melted margarine/butter.
  • 3Stir fruit pie filling or canned peaches into batter. Bake 35-45 minutes until top in golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream, whipped cream or cold milk. Then go back for seconds, thirds, whatever.
