This is a cold weather dish but I like it so much I cook it year round.Serve warm with good vanills ice cream or fresh whipped cream.

sliced , peeded apples
2 c
sugar, divided
1/2 c
water
1 stick
butter
1 1/2 c
self rising flour
1 1/2 c
milk
1 tsp
cinnamon (may need more)
1/4 tsp
nutmeg
1/4 tsp
apple pie spice
1/2 c
raisins optional

How to Make Karen's Apple Cobbler

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350

    COMBINE THE APPLES , CINNAMON,NUTMEG, APPLE PIE SPICE AND RAISINS OPTIONAL, TO THE SIDE. YOU CAN ADD OTHER FRUITS WITH THE APPLES. MAKE SURE YOU HAFE THE FRUIT.
    PUT 1 CUP SUGAR AND WATER IN A SAUCEPAN AND MIX WELL.BRING TO A BOIL AND SIMMER FOR 10 MINUTES.Remove from the heat.
  • 2PUT THE BUTTER IN A 3-QUART BAKING DISH AND PLACE IN OVEN TO MELT.
  • 3MIX REMAINING 1 CUP SUGAR, FLOUR, ANG MILK SLOWLY TO PREVENT CLUMPING ( YOU CAN ALSO ADD SOME CINNAMON IN BATTER, OPTIONAL). POUR MIXTURE OVER MELTED BUTTER. DO NOT STIR. POUR APPLES ON TOP.CARFULLY POUR IN SUGAR SYRUP.
  • 4SPRINKLE TOP WITH MORE CINNAMON, OPTIONAL.
    THE BATTER WILL COME TO THE TOP AS IT COOKS
  • 5BAKE AT 350 FOR 30 TO 45 MINUTES
